Virginia’s Bus Company Opens May 5, 2008
New Northern Virginia Facility For Immediate Distribution
Sonny Merryman, Inc., Virginia’s Bus
Company, recently opened a new, expanded service center near the Manassas
airport. The new facility, which replaces the company’s Woodbridge location,
boasts ample office space, a 10,000 square foot bus service area, and another
5,000 square feet for parts warehousing. Located on a three and one half acre
site, the complex, also provides spacious parking and bus storage lots.
Sonny
Merryman’s new Northern Virginia location employs a variety of full-time
workers: sales and customer support specialists, bus service technicians, and
parts specialists. The facility is in Prince William County at 10149 Piper Lane
(VA route 660), Bristow, Virginia 20136. It’s off VA Route 28 (Nokesville Road)
just south of its intersection with VA Route 234 (Prince William Parkway) near
the Manassas Regional Airport.
In 2005 the 40-year-old,
statewide bus company began expanding operations from
its longtime headquarters near Lynchburg by opening a new Hampton Roads Service
Center in Chesapeake, Virginia. Two years later, the company expanded again by
establishing a second branch location in Woodbridge to serve the growing
Northern Virginia market.
The Northern Virginia division
quickly outgrew its original facility and recently relocated to the much larger
and more modern service center near Manassas. “Enhancing our customer support
capabilities in the state’s more populous regions is key to growing our
company,” says company President and CEO, Floyd Merryman. “We pride ourselves as
being the Commonwealth’s premier bus dealer and our decision to expand
operations into both Hampton Roads and Northern Virginia is indicative of our
strong commitment to meeting our customer’s bus service and parts needs.”
Sonny Merryman, Inc. provides
buses, vans, parts and service to statewide school and transit operations as
well as health care facilities, retirement communities, child care centers,
churches, charter and hotel shuttle operators, and many other organizations
offering transportation services.
